Practical naval architecture and marine engineering support across design, compliance, construction, refit and in-service operations.
From naval architecture and P.Eng. review to shipyard support, inspections and in-service engineering, BuiltForSea brings focused technical capability to your team.
Flexible naval architecture and marine engineering support for defined work packages, production demands, vessel delivery and lifecycle requirements.
BuiltForSea is an independent naval architecture and marine engineering practice based in Hamilton, Ontario. BuiltForSea was founded to provide practical engineering support to vessel owners, boatbuilders, shipyards and marine engineering teams. Every project is led by BuiltForSea's Principal Naval Architect, with specialist support brought in where the scope requires it.
The experience behind it runs through design offices, shipyards, dry docks and sea trials, across small craft, submarines, warships and auxiliary vessels. That sequence matters: a calculation accounts for how a vessel will actually be built, surveyed and operated, not only how it performs on paper.
You deal directly with the engineer responsible for the work. Where a P.Eng. review or seal is required and the work is within the professional scope, BuiltForSea remains responsible for the engineering it issues.
Direct contact from the initial discussion through delivery, without unnecessary hand-offs.
P.Eng. review and sealing can be provided where the work is within the professional scope and the applicable licensing and regulatory requirements allow it.
BuiltForSea is backed by more than 20 years of experience across shipbuilding, submarines, vessel construction, repair and refit, dry-docking, trials and program management.
